What is ovarian cancer? Ovarian cancer is the abnormal growth of cells in the ovary. It can spread throughout the body. It is the deadliest of gynecologic cancers. There are different types of ovarian cancer. The most common type of ovarian cancer is abnormal growth of the cells on the surface of the ovary, and is called epithelial ovarian cancer.

LONG ISLAND CITY, NY (August 7, 2024) Fidelis Care, a statewide health plan with more than 2.4 million members in New York State and a Centene Corporation company, has opened the application process for its second annual maternal health grant program. Health care providers and community-based organizations across New York State that address maternal health disparities, particularly in underserved communities, are encouraged to apply for the grants, which range from $10,000 to $20,000. The application deadline is 5 p.m. ET on Friday, September 6, 2024.

The Fidelis Care Veggies to Go program gave away 150 bags of fresh fruits and vegetables at a June event at the Brockport Area Veterans Club in Monroe County. Veggies to Go addresses food insecurity and nutrition in communities across New York State.

They also help to reduce the spread of diseases. Stay up to date with your vaccines to stay in good health and protect those around you. Talk to your primary care provider (PCP) about getting the appropriate vaccines.
National Health Center Week takes place from August 4-10, 2024. This weeklong event highlights the important role that Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) play in improving the health and well-being of underserved communities. FQHCs are community-based clinics that offer primary care services in medically underserved areas. FQHCs address critical health disparities, promote preventive care, and remove barriers to affordable healthcare services. Fidelis Care's partnerships with FQHCs are essential to achieving our mission.
