National Nurses Week is May 6-12. At Fidelis Care, nurses work to help people in many ways. Some nurses assist members leaving hospitals so that they won’t have to go right back in. Some help moms and babies with special needs in our BabyCare program.

This Friday, bags of food will be distributed to more than 6,300 students across 22 counties of northeastern New York. Over 500 of these children receive bags because of the success of the 2021 Backpack Heroes campaign, which raised over $100,000 to support the program.

The main cause of cervical cancer is due to an infection called human papilloma virus (HPV) passed on by sexual contact. The virus causes the tissue cells to grow abnormally and turn into cancer.

Fidelis Care has awarded Northwell Health a $25,000 grant to help support continued efforts targeting social determinants of health in diverse communities. The program is led by Northwell's Department of Community and Population Health.
