Saying someone has ‘pink eye’ is less of a diagnosis and more of a symptom. A red eye can be caused by numerous things in children. The three main causes of a ‘pink eye’ are bacterial, viral, and allergic.

The unspeakable events in Buffalo shook all of us. Whether we experienced them as a direct injury to ourselves, our family and our neighbors, or more distantly as observers with a shared humanity, we feel shaken and disturbed. Reactions run the gamut from grief to anxiety to anger.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, roughly 1 in 4 parents exclusively breastfeed their children up to the age of 6 months, leaving the majority of parents and caregivers at least partially dependent on formula.

National Nurses Week is May 6-12. At Fidelis Care, nurses work to help people in many ways. Some nurses assist members leaving hospitals so that they won’t have to go right back in. Some help moms and babies with special needs in our BabyCare program.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recently updated and published new guidelines for families advising that children younger than 24 months should have zero screen time other than for supervised video chatting.

During Black Maternal Health Week, Fidelis Care will team up with Northwell Health to co-host a webinar, “Awareness and Advocacy for Better Health Outcomes.” The webinar will highlight the importance of access to quality maternal health care, and explore the roots of maternal mortality among Black women.
