In its second year, the Fidelis Care ‘Veggies to Go’ program distributed 1,770 bags of healthy food to individuals and families in need. That adds up to 35,400 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables given out in 2023, a 68 percent increase over the inaugural year of the program. Veggies to Go addresses nutrition and food insecurity in urban and rural communities across New York State.

Fidelis Care is proud to recognize and honor the brave veterans within our organization, in our communities, and across the nation. Some Fidelis Care employees shared their thoughts. Scott Averill, Senior Vice President, Sales and Co-Chair of Fidelis Care’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council, served in The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) from 1972-1976.

Fidelis Care and health care provider Hometown Health Centers recently partnered for an event to educate the public about a major change in the health insurance renewal process. At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government provided New York State with additional funding to keep individuals covered under Medicaid, Child Health Plus, Essential Plan, and Managed Long Term Care. With the federal public health emergency now ended, those individuals must take action to keep their health insurance.
