The treatment of individuals with “mental illness and addiction” is really the treatment of individuals with hopes and dreams, families and jobs, foibles and successes, unbelievable hardships, and moments of grace.

The impact of mass violence, like the tragic shootings in Buffalo and Texas, which were fueled by hatred and anger, can feel overwhelming and lead to hopelessness. Common reactions from children and adolescents can include behavioral changes, anxiety, intense engagement on social media, substance abuse, and mood changes.

Saying someone has ‘pink eye’ is less of a diagnosis and more of a symptom. A red eye can be caused by numerous things in children. The three main causes of a ‘pink eye’ are bacterial, viral, and allergic.

National Nurses Week is May 6-12. At Fidelis Care, nurses work to help people in many ways. Some nurses assist members leaving hospitals so that they won’t have to go right back in. Some help moms and babies with special needs in our BabyCare program.
