This Hispanic Heritage Month, Latinos Unidos of the Hudson Valley recognizes that health issues are some of the most important challenges facing the Hispanic community. Language barriers and lack of information in their native language as well as social stigma deter many Spanish speakers from getting help with their health concerns. That is why Latinos Unidos makes it a top priority to partner with Fidelis Care and other healthcare organizations to make sure that the Hispanic community has access to quality, affordable healthcare. My Hispanic heritage is a source of pride and a daily reminder of a history that shapes who I am. It is more than just a cultural background; it represents the struggles, aspirations, and dreams of my ancestors. As someone of Colombian descent, my heritage is rich with traditions, resilience, and identity that live in every aspect of my life. It represents a history that I share widely and allows me to form meaningful connections. It is a time to honor and celebrate the rich culture, history, and contributions of the Hispanic community. This month is one of reflection, pride, and recognition of the resilience and vibrancy that define our heritage. From the rich flavors of our foods to the vibrant sounds of our music, Hispanic culture is a beautiful mosaic that continues to influence, inspire, and shape our society in meaningful ways. A fun fact about the Hispanic community is its incredible diversity—Hispanics come from more than 20 different
National Health Center Week takes place from August 4-10, 2024. This weeklong event highlights the important role that Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) play in improving the health and well-being of underserved communities. FQHCs are community-based clinics that offer primary care services in medically underserved areas. FQHCs address critical health disparities, promote preventive care, and remove barriers to affordable healthcare services. Fidelis Care's partnerships with FQHCs are essential to achieving our mission. We are grateful for the many contributions of FQHCs and the role they play in achieving equitable, quality healthcare for all. Throughout the year, we collaborate with these clinics to
