Rural-Health-Grant-Program

Fidelis Care is awarding grants to healthcare providers and community-based organizations in New York State to help support rural health and wellness programs.

If your office or organization runs a program that helps address barriers to care such as transportation, the availability of primary care providers and medical facilities, health literacy, social stigma, and other factors faced by rural communities, then Fidelis Care  encourages you to apply for the grant.

Grants of $10,000 to $20,000 will be awarded. To be eligible, providers or community organizations must serve New York State. Applications will be accepted until 5 PM on October 4, 2024.  Applicants must answer all of the questions on the form to be considered. Please note: Some reporting is required. Awards will be announced  on or before November 8, 2024.

Applications are no longer being accepted at this time. Organizations will be contacted by November 8, 2024 about their requests.

Rural healthcare is essential

There are nearly 60 million  Americans living in rural areas, including 1.5 million in New York State, that require adequate medical care. The U.S. Government Accountability Office shows that these communities often face significant barriers to healthcare access, including a shortage of providers, longer travel distances to medical facilities, and limited access to specialized services. A lack of broadband internet also hinders the use of telehealth services, which has become crucial in expanding access to care.
