Preventive Care for Women

Preventive care plays a key role in maintaining good health. Many women’s preventive services are covered at no cost to you, including:

  • Well Visits
  • Breast cancer screenings, including mammograms
  • Cervical cancer screenings (Pap tests and HPV* tests)
  • Screening for diseases spread through sex (like chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV and syphilis) for women at risk
  • Prenatal and postpartum care
  • Breastfeeding support and supplies
  • Domestic and interpersonal violence screening and counseling

Preventive care helps you stay ahead of health concerns—before they become serious.

*A safe, effective vaccine is also available to prevent you from getting HPV (human papillomavirus) in the first place. The vaccine can be given to anyone from ages 9 to 26. Women between 27 and 45 should talk with their healthcare provider about whether the vaccine is right for them. Depending on which Fidelis Care health plan you have, the vaccine may also be provided at no cost to you. Learn more at our HPV page.

What you can do

Schedule your yearly well visit and talk with your medical provider about the preventive tests (sometimes called health screenings) that are right for you now. Click here for additional topics you can discuss with your medical provider.
