Grants of $10,000 to $20,000 aim to improve behavioral health outcomes, especially in underserved communities

LONG ISLAND CITY, NY (March 5, 2025) Fidelis Care, a statewide health plan with more than 2.4 million members in New York State and a Centene Corporation company, has opened the application process for its 2025 behavioral health grant program. The grants – ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 – are intended to enhance the integration of behavioral health and primary care through innovative strategies. In support of World Cancer Day this February, Fidelis Care has launched a multiplatform campaign to promote cancer screenings. Regular preventive screenings can help detect cancer at its earliest stages, giving patients the best chance for successful treatment.
The cancer screening awareness campaign includes posters, flyers, and social media graphics highlighting the types of cancer most recommended for regular screenings by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. These are:
Breast Cancer
Cervical Cancer
Colorectal Cancer
Lung Cancer
Prostate Cancer

Diabetes is the leading cause of chronic kidney disease affecting almost one in three people. Clinical guidelines recommend that all people with diabetes have routine tests to detect kidney disease. However, less than half get the needed tests.
Kidney disease does not show symptoms until later stages of the disease, and this makes early detection the key to managing the disease appropriately. The Kidney Health Evaluation (KED) assesses both kidney function with an estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and kidney damage with a urine albumin-creatinine (uACR) to develop an appropriate treatment plan.
